Big Red Robe (Da hong pao) Chinese Oolong Tea
Da Hong Pao oolong tea is a long leaf tea originating from the Wuyi Mountains in China. It is known for its unique woodsy character, fruity muscatel tones, and lack of bitterness. Da Hong Pao is the most expensive tea in the world and is typically reserved for honored guests in China. It is particularly resistant to foaming and is best brewed with water between 98 and 100 degrees Celsius. The tea contains caffeine, theophylline, tea polyphenols, and flavonoids, and is believed to have a number of health benefits, including mitigating weariness and helping blood circulation, as well as treating edema and water retention.
