Use 1 heaped teaspoon, or approximately 2 to 3 grams, of loose leaf tea per 250 mL cup.
Heat fresh water to 90 to 95°C, or 194 to 203°F. Pour the heated water over the leaves and steep for 3 to 4 minutes.
Strain the leaves completely before serving. Begin with 3 minutes for a smoother cup or steep for 4 minutes for a stronger and more robust infusion.
Brewing tip: Increase the amount of tea rather than extending the steeping time if you want a stronger cup with less astringency.
